Steven P. Shelov, M.D., M.S., F.A.A.P
Dr. Shelov received his B.S. from Yale University, his MD. from Medical College of Wisconsin, his M.S. in administrative medicine from the University of Wisconsin and his pediatric residency at Montefiore Medical Center. Immediately prior to his arrival, he was professor and director of Pediatric Education at Albert Einstein.
Dr. Steven P. Shelov, M.D., M.S., F.A.A.P. is currently Professor of Pediatrics at Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Chairman of Pediatrics at Maimonides Medical Center and Lutheran Medical Center and Vice President of the Infants' and Childrens' Hospital of Brooklyn. He is the Editor-in-Chief of several of the parent publications for the AAP including Caring For Your Baby and Young Child, The First Year Of Life, and A Guide to Child Symptoms. Dr. Henry Anhalt is the director of the division of pediatric endocrinology and diabetes at the Saint Barnabas Medical Center. He is Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the Sate University of New York at Downstate, and Co-Director of the Healthy L.I.F.E. program at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, a new multidisciplinary obesity treatment program. This award winning, family-centered, behaviorally based, multi-disciplinary program for overweight children and their families has achieved national and international recognition.
Dr. Anhalt completed his post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at the Lucille Salter Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford University and was a recipient of the prestigious Dean's fellowship award. His research at Stanford focused on disorders of growth, puberty and diabetes where he helped design a video game for children with diabetes.
Additionally, Dr. Anhalt is a leader in diabetes care; he is a certified diabetes educator and champions the use of pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring in all children with diabetes. His expertise and outcomes have been published and appreciated by his pediatric endocrinology peers.
Dr. Anhalt has authored numerous textbook chapters and research papers on various topics in pediatric endocrinology. Dr. Anhalt is a sought after speaker and is often quoted in the Wall St. Journal, LA Times, and CNN. He lectures widely both in the United States and internationally. He is a member of numerous professional organizations and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Osteopathic Pediatricians and a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology. He serves on multiple advisory boards and is recognized as an international key opinion leader in the field of diabetes and growth. He also sits on the Endocrine Society's Advocacy and Public Outreach Core Committee.
